Meaning
Quality measure of the assessability of the colon. A high score (max. 9) indicates a high level of cleanliness or good preparation.
The large intestine is divided into 3 sections: right, middle and left. Each section is graded from 0 to 3 points according to the degree of soiling. The sum corresponds to the degree of soiling: thus the sum is
- ≤5 points as poor bowel preparation,
- 6-7 as a good bowel preparation and
- ≥ 8 as a very good bowel preparation.
