Meaning

The most important classification that describes the level of a polyp in comparison to the surrounding mucosa.

These are essentially

Paris Type I

denotes the sublime or polypous/polypoid Forms.

  • Ip - polypoid narrow-based or polypoid-stalked
  • Is - polypoid broad-based or polypous-sessile

Paris Type II

denotes the flat and broad-based Forms.

  • IIa - flat-raised. A special form are the so-called LST.
  • IIb - completely flat
  • IIc - Superficially sunken

Paris Type III

denotes the sunken shape.
